Workshop of traditional folkore music and dancing

On November 29th, 2017., Workshop of traditional folkore music and dancing was held in the premises of Kindergarten, Elementary school, High School and Student Hostel "Miroslav Krleža" in Pécs, as part of implementation project E.B.M.

The workshop was held in accordance with the planned schedule, during which the participants attended the program of students of the host school. Following, professor Vesna Velin presented the traditional folklor costumes of Bosnian Croats from the surroundings of Pécs, which their dancers wore. After the beautiful tamburica music and the quick moves of the dancers the participants of workshop were divided into two groups. While one group learned dances from the surroundings of Pécs and Podravina, the other was practicing on the prim and bassprim tamburicas. For one hour, some students practiced a simpler musical part of compositoin and other practiced simpler dance choreography. After that, the students changed groups and the workshops were repeated with other participants.

At the very end of the workshop, children and their companions expressed satisfaction. After sharing gifts (usb sticks and badges) guests and hosts had lunch together. Before returning home, children, especially boys expressed the desire to try out the school football field with artificial grass, so the fraternizing of guests and hosts continued beyond the planned program.

Satisfaction with the workshop is proven by many photos, and the principals and the professors are confident that the cooperation will continue even after the project is completed.
